5th Annual Midland Highland Festival: Free Family Fun!!
White Pine Sponsors Highland Festival in Midland, MI
The White Pine Celtic Arts Council will be hosting a Highland Festival in
Midland on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Chippewassee Park near downtown Midland!
The public is welcome and there is no entrance fee. Events will include:
Caber Toss, Stone Throw, Sheep Herding, and Highland Dancing, along with local
bagpipe bands. There will be food and other vendors available on-site as well.
There will be live Celtic music, children's activities, and an amateur Highland Athletics competition
- Date: Saturday, June 11, 2011
Tentative Schedule of Events:
9 AM - 5 PM: Highland Games with the amateur athletes
Noon: Opening Ceremonies with the Massed Bands:
- White Pine Pipes & Drums
- Cabar Feidh Pipes & Drums
- Flint Scottish Pipes & Drums
- Glen Erin Pipe Band
Afternoon Activities:
Live Celtic music with Equinox and Finnegan
Details for afternoon events will be posted as they are developed but generally include:
Bagpiping, Sheep Dog Demonstrations, Highland Dancing
Location: Chippewassee Park - Over the Tridge in downtown Midland. The park can be accessed from Golfside
Drive as well as the Farmer's Market area near the Tridge.

Admission: Free to all ages!
Downtown Activities: Great shopping, superb restaurants, and excellent coffee shops!
