Midland Highland Festival to Produce Fundraising CD

The Midland Highland Festival committee will be producing a CD for the public to purchase. The funds raised from the sales of the CD will be used to help offset the cost of putting this festival on and also help to keep it a community sponsored event. White Pine Sponsors Highland Festival in Midland, MI

The White Pine Celtic Arts Council will be hosting a Highland Festival in Midland on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at Chippewassee Park near downtown Midland!

The public is welcome and there is no entrance fee. Events include: Caber Toss, Stone Throw, Sheep Herding, and Highland Dancing, along with pipe bands from around Michigan and some live Celtic music. There will be food and other vendors available on-site as well.
  • Date: Saturday, June 13, 2009


  • Schedule of Events:
  • 9 AM - 5 PM: Heavy Events with the Highland Athletes


  • Noon: Opening Ceremonies with Massed Bands


  • Afternoon Activities:
    1:00 - 5:00 Live Celtic music in the spectator tent including fiddle music, and the bands Equinox and Finnegan.
    1:30 & 3:30 Border Collie and sheep demonstration

    Pipe Band Performances from 1-5 PM:
    1:00 White Pine Pipes & Drums and Highland Dancers
    2:00 Cabar Feidh Pipes & Drums
    3:00 Midland Highlanders
    4:00 Ann Arbor Pipes & Drums

  • 5 PM - Closing Ceremonies with the massed bands


  • Location: Chippewassee Park - Over the Tridge in downtown Midland.

    The park can be accessed from Golfside Dr., from the Farmer's Market area of downtown Midland and also the St. Charles Park area.

  • Children's activities including crafts and a kiddie caber toss.


  • Admission: Free to all ages!


  • Downtown Midland Activities: Great shopping, superb restaurants, fabulous coffee and much, much more.
